The Reason

Excerpt from The Lord of The Rings Fellowship of The Ring
Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you were also meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought.
There are a lot of things in our lives that we wish didn't happen. If only we had a remote control, we would often click on the rewind button so we could undo or replay those occurrences. But we don't , we just have to live with it and move on. The sad thing is, most of us did not learn anything from our past and that is why they happen again.

Things happen in our lives for a reason. These experiences usually makes us stronger; helps prepare us for other things which could occur in the future. We were meant to experience them for us to learn. We should learn to appreciate them as we appreciate the good things that happen to us.

There is a great force working in this world, and that is God. These are all just a part of God's plan for us, to nurture us and to prepare us for greater things to come.
Jeremiah 29:11 - I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.
Now that is an encouraging thought!
