The Plan

It was a typical Friday afternoon. Everybody was looking forward to another well deserved rest after a grueling week at the office. I was getting ready to go home when my phone rang. It was from Human Resources and all they wanted to tell me was that they are not going to renew my contract and to come back on Monday for my clearances and last pay. Wow, this was the second time in two years that this happened! The first time was due to a company merger, and now its due to a budget cut. The funny thing is that I was not even affected by the news I just heard. I know that there are bills to pay and a family to take care of, but somehow I was at peace. I knew that God will take care of me and my family that I felt so secure.

True enough, after only three weeks after I got laid off, I got a job offer from a multinational company, double the pay! God truly is good! He gave me another job and I'm now  back on track to giving my family a better life.

Two years later, during the first working day of the year, we were all called for an emergency meeting with management. They said that our client decided to move the project to India and our contract will end in two months. I knew I've heard this thing before, but where?

This time, I was more than ready. I know that God took care of me before, and now I know He'll still be by my side. I am now working in a company as a permanent employee with flexible working hours and again, double the pay!

Looking back at these experiences, I now realize that God was simply preparing me for the next "Big thing" in my life. The experience I got from working for those other companies prepared me for the job I have now. Oh, and another thing, these all happened while I was serving God through out Christian Life Program(CLP). Maybe this is why I was always at peace. My relationship with God taught me to rely on His plans for my life.

Jeremiah 29:11 - I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.

By allowing God to work through my life, I am now closer to the future I am hoping for.

Everything that happened in my life was just a part of "The Plan". God's Plan!
