Have you seen the new house being constructed a few block from your apartment? Did you see the new car in the garage of your neighbor right next to an empty box of a new 70" 3D TV? Or the new cellphone of your friend? Or the big promotion of your office mate? These are great blessings indeed. However, reality suddenly comes in and you say to yourself "How about me? Where is mine?"
That is when we start to ask God. Why is it that I am getting only this much while others, who work less, gets more? How does this bum, who does not even work, afford to live luxuriously? Why is it that I have worked hard all my life and still, I am struggling to make ends meet?
Big things come in small packages. We focus too much on the big things, that we don't have, that we fail to notice the little things we have that weigh more than what others receive.
Matthew 13:31-32 - He proposed another parable to them. "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in the field. It is the smallest of all seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of all plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches."God's blessings are like mustard seeds. Some may seem small but when you let it grow, when you let God's plan to unfold through this seemingly small blessing, you will realize that what you have is really the largest of all blessings!
