The morning of our last day was quite uneventful. We had a buffet breakfast, strolled down the beach, packed our things then we were off to Aklan. Goodbye Boracay!
We arrived at Aklan at around 2pm. Since our flight was at 7pm, we decided to tour the city. Our first stop, Sampaguita Gardens.
It took us about 10-15 minutes tricycle ride to Sampaguita Gardens, but it was all worth the trip. Entering their premises was like entering into a new world. It was like Christmas in September! Upon entering, we immediately noticed some carnival rides, a small replica of the Ark, and a Belen (Nativity scene). They really are living up to their vision, everyday is Christmas.
We also had the opportunity to explore Jojo's Christmas Cottage which houses a vast collection of Precious Moments items on the ground floor, a collection of Santa Claus statues, Nativity Scenes and Christmas trees on the second floor and a lot more. It even had a vintage car in the garage! What a treat!
At around 6pm, we were back in the airport, and guess what? Yup, our flight was at least 1 hour delayed! Well, another hour alone with my wife won't hurt, would it? Needless to say, we were back in Manila at around 10pm. It was good to be back. Our children accompanied my parents as they fetched us from the airport. What a way to end our honeymoon!
As I have said, on our 17th year in marriage, God gave us a well deserved rest. Now God is telling me that it is time to go back to work. And, back to work we go! This Saturday, we are off to Subic for another mission trip!
God really is Good!
