Strong @ 17

September 23, 1995. That was the day that ended my life... as a single individual, that is. That was the day that I married the love of my life, my best friend and God's very special gift to me, my wife, Nette.

Time flies when you are having fun. I never realized that we've been together the last 17 years. After all we've been through, all the trials, the joys, success and failures, God has been with us every step of the way.
And now, after 17 years together, God gave us this opportunity to celebrate our love alone in our second honeymoon. This would be the first time, after our marriage, that we would be going out of town alone and not on a mission trip or a retreat. On the seventh day, God rested. On our 17th year together, God gave us our well deserved rest.

Our day could not have started in a better way. We heard mass and had our renewal of vows in front of the whole congregation. Then, we were off to tend to our small business and had a simple lunch with our kids.

At around 2pm, we were off to the airport. Here, we experienced a rare occurrence, our flight was 30 minutes ahead of schedule! We arrived in Kalibo, Aklan safely and checked into our hotel. We took an early dinner and settled in for the night.

It is a great feeling to be alone with my wife, for the first time after all these years. I can't wait for day 2 of our honeymoon!
